INTERREG IVA Joint Council Workshop
The BCDEN project developed a number of pilot projects for local authorities in the areas of e-procurement, Podcasting, etc. as part of INTERREG 3.
Many councils expressed an interest in further developing some of these pilots in INTERREG 4.
Based on this interest, ERNACT consequently developed and circulated an outline of two projects to form the basis for a proposal to INTERREG 4.
One of these project outlines, "Public Services for Crossborder Citizens", is also of some interest to the DOE Local Government Policy Division and to some of the County Councils in the border area. Consequently, ERNACT along with DOE, have arranged a workshop, to be held on June 4 in the Strule Arts Centre in Omagh from 10:00am until 1:00 pm.
The purpose of the workshop is to explore whether there is a basis for developing this outline and submitting it as a proposal into the Collaboration Measure of INTERREG 4 (which is currently open). The project brief will form the basis for discussion at the workshop. It focuses on a number of areas of interest to local authorities, including multi-channel service delivery, environment, planning and e-procurement.
